Planning your trip to Andorra: access, seasons and budget

Andorra is worth visiting all year round, but not for the same reasons. The ski season generally runs from December to March, with the most reliable snow in January and February. Summer, from June to September, opens the high trails, the lakes and the refuges. May, October and November are the quietest and least expensive months — the period we recommend for a recovery stay or a spa break.

Getting here

There is no airport in Andorra. The country is reached only by road, from France via the N20 and the Pas de la Casa, or from Spain via the C-16 and Sant Julià de Lòria. We arrange transfers from both reference airports:

  • Toulouse-Blagnac — around 2 h 30 by road
  • Barcelona-El Prat — around 3 h by road, with far more long-haul connections
  • Private driver door to door, on request
  • Winter equipment is mandatory in season

Where to stay

The parish you choose shapes your stay. Canillo and Encamp give the most direct access to Grandvalira. La Massana serves Pal Arinsal and the Coma Pedrosa. Ordino is the quietest and most traditional. Andorra la Vella and Escaldes-Engordany concentrate the shopping, restaurants and thermal spas, and suit stays without a car.

What to budget

A five-night stay in a four-star hotel with lift pass and transfers usually falls between €900 and €1,400 per person in high season, and noticeably less outside school holidays. Our estimator gives an immediate range, and the firm quote follows once availability is confirmed.

Visitors from the Gulf

Andorra is reached through France or Spain, so a multiple-entry Schengen visa is required for most Gulf nationals — and it must be multiple-entry so you can leave again. We prepare that file in advance. Our summer offer covers stays of two to four weeks with a villa or suite, driver, household staff, children's activities and optional health assessments.
