The visa, before anything else
This is the point that decides everything. Andorra issues no visas and has no border control of its own — but it can only be reached by crossing France or Spain. A Moroccan national therefore needs a Schengen visa, not for Andorra, but for the country of transit.
The critical point: because you enter the Schengen Area, leave it to go to Andorra, then re-enter to catch your return flight, the visa must be multiple-entry. A single-entry visa leaves you stranded on the way back. This is the most frequent and most expensive mistake on this route.
Conditions, required documents and appointment lead times vary by consulate, by city and by period, and they change regularly. Check them with the relevant consulate or its official service provider before committing to anything — we do not publish a document list that would be out of date within three months.

The flight: Barcelona, without hesitation
From Morocco, Barcelona-El Prat is the obvious gateway. Direct services exist from Casablanca, Marrakech, Tangier and Nador, operated by several airlines, and the airport is around three hours by road from Andorra.
Toulouse-Blagnac is closer to Andorra — two and a half hours — but far less well served from Morocco. Unless a connection works particularly well, Barcelona remains the better choice: fewer connections, less risk of a broken itinerary, and a road route less exposed to winter disruption than the Pas de la Casa.

The transfer from the airport
There is no airport in Andorra, and no railway serves the country. From Barcelona there are three options: the scheduled coach, a shared shuttle, or a private driver. For a family with luggage, or for a patient in recovery, a private vehicle is the only comfortable one — and we set the timings against your actual flights, not a theoretical grid.
In winter, suitable equipment is compulsory and checks are frequent. If you hire a car in Spain, check that the contract allows entry into Andorra: many rental companies exclude it or charge a supplement. It is the kind of detail that ruins an arrival.
Money and currency controls
Andorra uses the euro. As the Moroccan dirham is not freely convertible, Moroccan residents are subject to exchange-control rules for spending abroad, with annual limits and specific rules for international bank cards.
To check before you leave: amounts, ceilings and procedures fall under Morocco's Office des changes and your own bank. They change. Deal with this several weeks in advance, particularly for a health stay where the sums are significant — planned medical treatment is not settled with a standard tourist allowance.

Meals and religious practice
Andorra is a small mountain country with a food scene that is mainly Catalan, Spanish and French. Halal options exist but remain limited and concentrated in the capital — do not expect the density of Barcelona or Casablanca.
For a family stay, two solutions work well: accommodation with a kitchen, or a grocery and meal-preparation service through our concierge division. We handle the supply chain, including from Barcelona where necessary.
On places of prayer and timings during Ramadan, we advise case by case at the time of booking, with information verified for the dates of your stay rather than a general answer published once and left to age.
A health stay: the honest question
We need to be clear, because our position could be misread. The Evitalink group operates in Morocco with a Moroccan medical network, and Vallcura operates in Andorra. If you are in Morocco and looking for treatment, the first question to ask is: why travel at all?
For many procedures, the answer is that there is no reason to. Morocco has a competent private network at a fraction of the cost of a trip to Europe. We will not sell an Andorran stay to someone who would be better served in Casablanca — and our doctors, who practise in Morocco, are best placed to say so.
What Andorra genuinely adds for a Moroccan patient comes down to three situations: recovery at altitude in a quiet, dry environment; a full longevity check-up in forty-eight hours on European equipment; or supervised sports recovery. Outside those cases, we will tell you.

Relocating to Andorra from Morocco
This is a different and considerably heavier undertaking than a stay. Andorran residency requires an investment in the country, a minimum annual presence and a complete file. For a non-EU national, the conditions and documents differ from those applying to an EU citizen.

Do not trust any intermediary who promises you "guaranteed" or "fast" Andorran residency from Morocco, with fees paid upfront. Such a promise cannot be kept: authorisation rests with an Andorran administration, and no provider has power over it.
